This morning we will start our fantastic church history tour by visiting Revolutionary War sites Lexington Green and Concord’s North Bridge. These sites marked the beginning of the war and we will talk about their importance to Church History and the Restoration. We will also visit the birthplace of Joseph Smith, Sr. and home to 5 generations of Smith’s in Topsfield, MA, Joseph Jr’s leg operation site, and the last home in Vermont where the Smith’s lived before they headed for Palmyra, NY.
Today we start at the birthplace of the Prophet, Joseph Smith in beautiful Sharon, VT. We will also stop in the gorgeous small village of Tunbridge, VT, where Joseph Sr. and Lucy Mack met and married. Other sites today include the marriage site of Joseph and Emma, the Stowell and Knight farms in Colesville, NY. Most tours do not visit these amazing sites, but you will enjoy our personal tour!
This morning we will start our drive to the beautiful Priesthood Restoration site in Harmony, PA, where homes have been amazingly restored (2015). The Whitmer Farm in Fayette, NY, a unique, fun surprise stop, a visit to the incredible Sauders Country Store (Mennonite/Amish), and “the birthplace of missionary work,” Mendon, NY, will also be on our list. Mendon is another site not visited by most tours. You will find it to be a very special place and be very glad it’s on our itinerary!
Today we have a full day visiting Palmyra, NY. The morning will find us in the Sacred Grove and Smith Farm. We will also visit the Hill Cumorah, the Book of Mormon historic publication site at the EB Grandin building, Alvin Smith’s grave, the Erie Canal, and the farm and home of Martin Harris.
This morning we travel to the incredible and breathtaking Niagara Falls! You will get amazing views from up top or you can ride the incredible Maid of the Mist! Then we will make our way to historic Kirtland, OH, and view the beautiful Fairport Harbor and tell its amazing story, along with the Kirtland Temple stone quarry.
Today we will head to Sacrament meeting in Kirtland, visit the Isaac Morley Farm, and we will discuss the great importance of this site and feel of the amazing, special spirit there. A stroll through Historic Kirtland, a visit to the Whitney Store and Home, Sawmill and Ashery. The newly restored home of Joseph and Emma in Kirtland will be new for everyone and wonderful to see. The historic and incredible Kirtland Temple will highlight our day!
This morning we head for the small town of Mantua, OH, to one of the congregational sites where Sidney Rigdon preached. We will also spend time in Hiram, OH at the historic John Johnson Farm, where D&C 76 was revealed, and the tar and feathering took place. We will then start to make our way toward Nauvoo. We will stop for dinner at one of everyone’s favorites on the tour—The Bluegate Amish Restaurant for a wonderful, delicious, family style dinner and some fun shopping.
Today we start at the Carthage Jail. You will feel an amazing spirit here that will strengthen your testimony in the Prophet of the Lord’s Restoration. Other sites in Nauvoo on this day will be the Joseph Smith properties (Mansion House, Nauvoo House, Homestead, Red Brick Store). In July, you will see a highly entertaining musical production by the missionaries called Sunset By The Mississippi, and watch the fun and inspiring Nauvoo Pageant.
On this day, we will hear from the great-great-granddaughter of Joseph and Emma Smith as she will teach us about that amazing couple, especially misunderstandings about Emma. You will have some free time to see Nauvoo on your own, walk the Trail of Hope, attend a session at the beautiful and historic Nauvoo Temple and in July, finish the day watching the incredible British Pageant.
This morning we will make our way out of beautiful Nauvoo and then visit the small town of Quincy, where the rescue took place after the Missouri expulsion. This little town has a big piece of history, and it will be an awesome visit for you. The rest of the day will take us to historic sites in Missouri, including Adam-Ondi-Ahman, Gallatin, and the Far West Temple site.
Our last day of the tour starts in Richmond, MO where 2 of the 3 Witnesses are buried and was the home of David Whitmer for many years. We will also visit Independence and the temple site, other historic spots in Independence, including the spot where most of the early Missouri persecutions to our people took place.
